Welcoming Spring with a New Look

Welcome to my new site! With spring around the corner, it’s time to refresh, reboot and renew. I listened to one of my favorite podcasts, How I Built This by Guy Raz, the other day on my way home from Springfield. Anthony Casalena talked about how he built Squarespace in his dorm room at the University of Maryland back in 2003. I was intrigued. I started poking around and discovered that his website is much easier and more intuitive for building websites, including blogs, than the service I had been using. I was looking for a website creation platform, or a “publishing platform” as Casalena calls it, that had more clean, modern templates. Finding Squarespace and refreshing my website is a great way to bring in a new season.

There’s something to this notion of “spring cleaning”. Especially living in a cold-weather climate where hibernation tendencies seem to abound, the opportunity to welcome the warmth with a clean slate is especially enticing. How do you approach spring? How do you come out of hibernation? What will you do to start fresh this spring?
